North Pension Fund Summary Plan Description (SPD) >> Pension Service

You earn Pension Service based on the hours you work in Covered Employment. The amount of pension credit you earn counts towards determining whether you are eligible for a benefit and the amount of your benefit. If you worked in Covered Employment prior to December 31, 1975, you will be credited with the time you worked under the terms of the Plan in effect on December 31, 1975. For all work in Covered Employment after December 31, 1975, you will earn one month of credit for each month your employer is required to make Contributions to the Fund on your behalf. Your Pension Service credited to you cannot exceed 30 years.

If you work for more than one Contributing Employer at the same time, you will be credited with only one month of service for each month during which one or more Contributing Employers is required to make Contributions on your behalf. If more than one Contributing Employer is required to make Contributions on your behalf, the Contribution Rate for such month will be that of the highest employer Contribution.
