North Pension Fund Summary Plan Description (SPD) >> Eligibility for Participation

You are eligible to participate in the Plan if you are an Employee working in Covered Employment under a collective bargaining agreement between a Contributing Employer and the Union, which provides for Contributions to this Fund, or if your Contributing Employer is obligated to Contribute to the Fund pursuant to some other written agreement. You are also eligible to participate in the Plan if you worked for the Pension Fund or the Service Employees 32BJ North Health Benefit Fund prior to January 1, 2007.

Your participation in the Plan will commence on the last day of the first Plan Year for which your employer is required to make Contributions to the Fund on your behalf.

Your participation in the Plan will terminate if you terminate Covered Employment before you are Vested and suffer a Break in Service (see Section 3).
